Lúcio Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Águia do Norte FC's Mariano Andujar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cenap Settar in the 26th minute of play. When Valongo FC's Hermes Amado in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Águia do Norte FC's goalie prevented a goal. Hermes Amado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Vicente Freitas in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Valongo FC's Belchior Souto.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evandro Cunha to make the kick off. Valongo FC's Rubim Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evandro Cunha in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Valongo FC booed when Águia do Norte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Graça didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute of the match, Hermes Amado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mariano Andujar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Valongo FC's Hamilton Borba got a free kick in the 59th minute. Evandro Cunha didn't quite understand what happened when in the 61 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After a rather tough play, Águia do Norte FC's Avelino Resende got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68thth minute of the game Evandro Cunha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valongo FC's Rubim Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Evandro Cunha scored 1-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubim Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rubim Ramos came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Águia do Norte FC's Evandro Cunha. But to his dismay, Evandro Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, Valongo FC's Cenap Settar got a free kick in the 85th minute. Valongo FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
