Rafael Severiano charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael Severiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, SC Apressados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Severiano to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 34 minutes, Sandrinho Lackey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Apressados's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandrinho Lackey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Idalécio Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubim Ramos. Valongo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Idalécio Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Valongo FC's Hermes Amado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Igor Branco. That made the score 1-3 after 39 minutes of play. Belchior Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hermes Amado to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Sandrinho Lackey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rubim Ramos, 1-4. After 61 played minutes, SC Apressados's Arturo Navarro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubim Ramos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Apressados reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Sandrinho Lackey managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Apressados's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandrinho Lackey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubim Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Belchior Souto hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Sandrinho Lackey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Rubim Ramos made a huge save. Igor Branco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermes Amado's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. A collision led to SC Apressados getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Idalécio Cabral hit a great ball. Hermes Amado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Branco having to interfere. Lisandro Soares hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Chants of SC Apressados echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Valongo FC had held the ball for most of the match.
