Plácido Corte-Real made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Gueifão in the 16th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Hermenegildo Brandão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Plácido Corte-Real. €uros's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermenegildo Brandão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 21 minutes into the game, Rui Gueifão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arcangel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave €uros the free kick. Vicente Granja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Eiró received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Plácido Corte-Real tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Manuel Eiró managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arcangel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Eiró was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rui Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

After 58 played minutes Arcangel got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Eiró. If Manuel Eiró had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Donato Ribas managed to get in a good position for a shot. €uros's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Ribas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in €uros's zone, Rui Gueifão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Plácido Corte-Real came out of the goal and Rui Gueifão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Ribas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th match minute, €uros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Corte-Real to maneuver through the defense. Arcangel's Manuel Eiró got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Plácido Corte-Real showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Gueifão, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Arcangel's Paulo Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Granja in the 91st minute of play. After 94 minutes of play, Arcangel's Rui Gueifão made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Plácido Corte-Real was left in no man's land by his defense there!
