The audience was convinced that Hermes Amado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Connell was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Achille Cardano hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Herois Do Mar's goal looked a bit too open when António Raminhos came free, but Alex Connell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermes Amado in the 17th minute of play forced Herois Do Mar's goalkeeper Alex Connell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Hermes Amado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alex Connell. Herois Do Mar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermes Amado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Valongo FC booed when Herois Do Mar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achille Cardano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25thth minute of the game Hermes Amado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Herois Do Mar's Alex Connell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carmelo Eneko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermes Amado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Connell having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermes Amado in the 30th minute of play forced Herois Do Mar's goalkeeper Alex Connell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very good chance. Alex Connell came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Valongo FC's Hermes Amado. But to his dismay, Hermes Amado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Herois Do Mar's zone, Carmelo Eneko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Connell came out of the goal and Carmelo Eneko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermes Amado in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Connell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Valongo FC's Hermes Amado in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Herois Do Mar's goalie prevented a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

In the 52nd minute, Hermes Amado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. António Raminhos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 56 in the game by Hermes Amado from a close distance when the talented Alex Connell managed to make a qualified save. Herois Do Mar's players were relieved. If Hermes Amado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hermes Amado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Connell having to make a save. In the 72nd minute, António Raminhos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Connell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Herois Do Mar's Alex Connell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermes Amado in the 80th minute of play. With his leg Alex Connell managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Valongo FC's Hermes Amado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Afonso Valério sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederico Mascarenhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carmelo Eneko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermes Amado in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alex Connell saved Herois Do Mar from getting behind. Frederico Mascarenhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Alex Connell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valongo FC's António Raminhos got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermes Amado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Connell having to make a save. When Carmelo Eneko came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Valongo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Eneko couldn't finish the play. Valongo FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
