Gusmão Vilarinho came out of the goal and Dimas Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Os Lagartos getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Diamantino Palhares hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Dimas Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gusmão Vilarinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gusmão Vilarinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimas Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Sinterra FC booed when Os Lagartos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Óscar Macieira scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gusmão Vilarinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 28 minutes, André Falcão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Os Lagartos and the Sinterra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Óscar Macieira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gusmão Vilarinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 34 minutes into the match, Os Lagartos's goal looked a bit too open when Óscar Macieira came free, but Gusmão Vilarinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lisandro Martins during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 38 played minutes Os Lagartos got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Martins. Pascoal Valadão kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Diamantino Palhares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Dimas Gomes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Zacarias Cordeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Sinterra FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Dimas Andrade hit a great ball. Os Lagartos's Gusmão Vilarinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimas Andrade in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Sinterra FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diamantino Palhares to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Sinterra FC's Dimas Andrade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gusmão Vilarinho. That made the score 1-3 after 53 minutes of play. When Leonel Carmona fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Os Lagartos's protests and gave Leonel Carmona a yellow card for diving instead. Leonel Carmona kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 67th play minute Óscar Macieira came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gusmão Vilarinho. 1-4. If Marcos Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Os Lagartos's Leonel Carmona got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some careless play in the Os Lagartos defense, Óscar Macieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gusmão Vilarinho. The Os Lagartos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gusmão Vilarinho should have stopped the shot. If Diamantino Palhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacarias Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Dimas Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sinterra FC's goalkeeper Dimas Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Os Lagartos's Gusmão Vilarinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Os Lagartos from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Dimas Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gusmão Vilarinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Os Lagartos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sinterra FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
