Spectators: 5500 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Claudemiro Campos took the kick off in the first half of the match. Gusmão Vilarinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubim Teixeira's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Gusmão Vilarinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nivaldo Graça in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Os Lagartos's goal looked a bit too open when Claudemiro Campos came free, but Gusmão Vilarinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gusmão Vilarinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubim Teixeira in the 12th minute of play. If Claudemiro Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lisandro Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Os Lagartos's Gusmão Vilarinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubim Teixeira in the 19th minute of play. Gregório Gomes's late challenge caught a SC Barreiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gregório Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Os Lagartos's Gregório Gomes got a free kick in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Os Lagartos's goal looked a bit too open when Claudemiro Campos came free, but Gusmão Vilarinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Os Lagartos were furious when Lisandro Martins was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 31st minute, one of Os Lagartos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Os Lagartos. Rui Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Claudemiro Campos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gusmão Vilarinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Claudemiro Campos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gusmão Vilarinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After the first half SC Barreiro were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diamantino Palhares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Rubim Teixeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Barreiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Os Lagartos the free kick. With an all-out effort, SC Barreiro's Gusmão Vilarinho threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Claudemiro Campos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gusmão Vilarinho made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Rubim Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. After 60 minutes of play, SC Barreiro's Claudemiro Campos made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gusmão Vilarinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diamantino Palhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jorge Moutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Os Lagartos's André Falcão got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Barreiro's goalkeeper Jorge Moutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nivaldo Graça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Gusmão Vilarinho made a huge save. Jorge Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Palhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Diamantino Palhares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Moutinho. SC Barreiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diamantino Palhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Palhares in the 83rd minute of play forced SC Barreiro's goalkeeper Jorge Moutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubim Teixeira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Gusmão Vilarinho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 89th minute Claudemiro Campos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gusmão Vilarinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gusmão Vilarinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudemiro Campos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
