An unexpectedly hard shot by Nélson Ventura in the 20th minute of play forced Green Lion's goalkeeper Simão Colaço to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hipólito Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulizes Boldu in the 23rd minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Inter Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Durães came free, but Hipólito Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saúl Caneira took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hipólito Montenegro. Hipólito Montenegro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hipólito Montenegro came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Green Lion's Ulizes Boldu. But to his dismay, Ulizes Boldu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Simão Colaço made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nélson Ventura in the 40th minute. Aldo Assis kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Henrique Durães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hipólito Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Green Lion were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frederico Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Green Lion's António Magalhães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Simão Colaço showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Green Lion's Simão Colaço played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nélson Ventura in the 86th minute of play. Simão Colaço showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
