Liviu Bădiță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romão Bentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Chapecoense's Kaan Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Salgado in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trevor Edwards was the one to do the kick off. Liviu Bădiță stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trevor Edwards's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 54th match minute, Vareiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Altino Faria in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liviu Bădiță prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Liviu Bădiță made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romão Bentes in the 58th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Altino Faria managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Emanuel Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaan Navas having to interfere. Raimundo Salgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Kaan Navas made a huge save. In the 68th match minute, Vareiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Travassos to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the game, Trevor Edwards was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chapecoense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vareiros FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Chapecoense's Trevor Edwards got a free kick in the 70th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Vareiros FC's Raimundo Salgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kaan Navas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 76thth minute of the game Trevor Edwards who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vareiros FC's Liviu Bădiță was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vareiros FC's Geraldo Portugal was substituted for Eric Gudmundsson. Liviu Bădiță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romão Bentes in the 82nd minute of the match. When Olívio Severo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. Olívio Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Moises Urdaspal charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moises Urdaspal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th minute of the match Siro Oro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kaan Navas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Vareiros FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Alexandre Assunção hit a great ball. Altino Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Chapecoense supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vareiros FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Vareiros FC.
