Hilário Barcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the match, Raimundo Salgado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Valentim Baía, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Durval Fraga in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liviu Bădiță prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabiano Pádua charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabiano Pádua the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabiano Pádua kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Caetano Santarém recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liviu Bădiță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Forlusitanos's Durval Fraga got a free kick in the 37th minute. Valentim Baía was a little too slow when Raimundo Salgado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 2-0. 44 minutes into the match, Vareiros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hilário Barcelos came free, but Liviu Bădiță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Salgado got free with Valentim Baía in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo Salgado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valentim Baía showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Salgado in the 52nd minute of the match. Valentim Baía didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raimundo Salgado went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Vareiros FC booed when Forlusitanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Pádua didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Salgado in the 66th minute of play forced Forlusitanos's goalkeeper Valentim Baía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Raimundo Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentim Baía showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After some careless play in the Forlusitanos defense, Raimundo Salgado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentim Baía. The Forlusitanos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentim Baía should have stopped the shot. In the 82nd minute, Alexandre Assunção hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Forlusitanos's Caetano Santarém got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caetano Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Liviu Bădiță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vareiros FC's Raimundo Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
