Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Trevor Edwards got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Chapecoense's Kaan Navas got control of the ball when Fatih Tekke tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabrício Pimenta kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Ferenc van Nistelrooij ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaan Navas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 12 minutes, Romão Bentes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapecoense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romão Bentes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The attack was good, but when Trevor Edwards in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Chapecoense's Kaan Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifacio Aznar in the 18th minute of play. Kaan Navas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Aznar in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Ferenc van Nistelrooij recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kaan Navas. Ferenc van Nistelrooij showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Noel Menezes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Chapecoense's Kaan Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fatih Tekke in the 35th minute of play. In the 44thth minute of the game Romão Bentes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Altino Faria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chapecoense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.João de Areias the free kick. The supporters of S.João de Areias booed when Chapecoense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Altino Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferenc van Nistelrooij made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Chapecoense's zone, Bonifacio Aznar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaan Navas came out of the goal and Bonifacio Aznar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 53 minutes into the match, Fatih Tekke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaan Navas. Chapecoense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fatih Tekke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. A collision led to Chapecoense getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Romão Bentes hit a great ball. The supporters of S.João de Areias booed when Chapecoense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Volkan Yağınalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Bonifacio Aznar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaan Navas. Chapecoense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bonifacio Aznar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Yusuf Ziya Sertaç successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Romão Bentes scored 4-1 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yusuf Ziya Sertaç, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romão Bentes in the 66th minute of play. Romão Bentes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yusuf Ziya Sertaç having to make a save. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romão Bentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Fatih Tekke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Kaan Navas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Romão Bentes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. When Bonifacio Aznar came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the S.João de Areias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifacio Aznar couldn't finish the play. 92 minutes into the match, Chapecoense's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Aznar came free, but Kaan Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Quintino Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapecoense's protests and gave Quintino Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave S.João de Areias a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Silvano Severo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chapecoense's Kaan Navas. 6-2. There was no doubt that S.João de Areias were the better team. S.João de Areias's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
