Galaxy Union FC's Quintino Quintela was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Torgny Mellin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Galaxy Union FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Galaxy Union FC's Paulino Azeredo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Caires in the 24th minute of play forced Galaxy Union FC's goalkeeper Atanasije Martać to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandro Caires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atanasije Martać having to interfere. When Sandro Caires came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Vargens FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Caires couldn't finish the play. Norberto Sabrosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Atanasije Martać tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sandro Caires was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Galaxy Union FC's Atanasije Martać proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Galaxy Union FC from getting a goal against them. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulino Azeredo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Galaxy Union FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiago Barroso during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teodoro Vilela didn't quite understand what happened when in the 73 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The crowd rose to their feet as Galaxy Union FC's Paulino Azeredo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Torgny Mellin. That made the score 2-2 after 84 minutes of play. Galaxy Union FC's Gusmão Vital was substituted for Teófilo Valadares. 91 minutes into the game, Vargens FC's Sandro Caires nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Atanasije Martać made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. There was no doubt that Vargens FC were the better team. Vargens FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
