After 4 played minutes Amarante FC got a freekick which was hit by Hamilton Chagas. After having played for 11 minutes, Albertino Gama managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amarante FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertino Gama was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Barcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Filipe Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Sequeira in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute Alberto Barcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Moutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertino Sequeira struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Filipe Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amarante FC. When Albertino Sequeira came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Amarante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertino Sequeira couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aristides Calheiros during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ciborro getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Aristides Calheiros hit a great ball. Ivo Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Barcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Hamilton Chagas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute, Gualter Brandão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivo Moutinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gualter Brandão went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Albertino Gama received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Filipe Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filipe Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Sequeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 45 played minutes Ciborro got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Brandão. The Amarante FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ciborro were winning 0-1.

Sabino Eanes kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Patrício Freitas did an outstanding performance 55 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-1 to the right of an irritated Filipe Dias in the goal. Gualter Brandão charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gualter Brandão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ciborro's Gualter Brandão got a free kick in the 57th minute. Gualter Brandão kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. The supporters of Ciborro booed when Amarante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascoal Gois didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ciborro getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Aristides Calheiros hit a great ball. Hamilton Chagas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Dias having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Amarante FC's Albertino Sequeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Filipe Dias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Hamilton Chagas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amarante FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamilton Chagas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
