The throw-in from Miguel Sampaio in the 3rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Pato Bravo FC's Eddy Sheets. In the 4th match minute, Pato Bravo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veríssimo Rebocho to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Alheira FC's Severiano Dias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ionică Olăroiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Cassiano Gusmão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ionică Olăroiu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 12 played minutes Alheira FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Machado. After 13 played minutes Alheira FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Machado. In the 14th minute Eddy Sheets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vaggelis Kotsalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nuno Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Alheira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Baptista couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Alheira FC's Donato Frois sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ionică Olăroiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Pato Bravo FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Adélio Andrade hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severiano Dias got free with Ionică Olăroiu in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Alheira FC's Donato Frois in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pato Bravo FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute Nuno Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Olăroiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Alheira FC's Humberto Fernandes got a free kick in the 58th minute. The supporters of Alheira FC booed when Pato Bravo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alheira FC's Nuno Baptista in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Humberto Fernandes hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When Alheira FC's Severiano Dias in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pato Bravo FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ionică Olăroiu came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Alheira FC's Severiano Dias. But to his dismay, Severiano Dias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Severiano Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionică Olăroiu having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Alheira FC had played much better football throughout.
