Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Palmiro Picasso in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélder Vasques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 16 minutes into the match, Vaiamonte FC's goal looked a bit too open when Palmiro Picasso came free, but Hélder Vasques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vaiamonte FC's António Cerqueira got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rui Estrela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gentil Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélder Vasques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Palmiro Picasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Linhares got free with Gentil Miranda in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd match minute, Vaiamonte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serge Pander to maneuver through the defense.

With a little luck, Vaiamonte FC's Hélder Vasques got control of the ball when Palmiro Picasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ludomir Barna fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pau Nas Canelas's protests and gave Ludomir Barna a yellow card for diving instead.
