An unexpectedly hard shot by Manoel Guimarães in the 25th minute of play forced SC Varzim's goalkeeper Radowit Wielgopolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Magusteiro's José Chagas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Macena in the 26th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulino Lopes during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes SC Magusteiro got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Lopes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manoel Guimarães in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radowit Wielgopolski saved SC Varzim from getting behind. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Radowit Wielgopolski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Júlio Macena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute of the match, Ricardo Baía got a very nice opportunity to score, but Radowit Wielgopolski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
