After a rather tough play, Luso's Marcos Morais got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute of the match Leonel Álvares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo Santos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Paulo Santos made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when António Cerqueira sent off a good shot on target. Ricardo Prestes's late challenge caught a Vaiamonte FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Prestes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th minute, António Cerqueira made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Santos. Luso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Honorato Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Santos. Luso's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Honorato Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 15 played minutes Luso got a freekick which was hit by André Poças. Paulo Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Estrela, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute, Vaiamonte FC's António Cerqueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Luso's Paulo Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Luso from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the game, Vaiamonte FC's António Cerqueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Paulo Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Linhares in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Ricardo Prestes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélder Vasques. Vaiamonte FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardo Prestes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. António Cerqueira scored 5-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 42 minutes into the game, Aldo Prada threw the ball into play from the sideline. Vaiamonte FC's Manuel Bacelar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Paulo Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Estrela in the 51st minute of the match. Paulo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Cerqueira in the 52nd minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Luso's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Estrela came free, but Paulo Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, António Cerqueira put it in 7-1 from a short distance just to the right of Paulo Santos. Paulo Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rui Estrela's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, António Cerqueira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. 71 minutes into the match, Luso's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Estrela came free, but Paulo Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serge Pander kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Rui Estrela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vaiamonte FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-1. 80 minutes into the game, Vaiamonte FC's Honorato Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-1. Paulo Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Cerqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the game, António Cerqueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-1. Paulo Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Vaiamonte FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Luso:s goal. The goalkeeper, Hélder Vasques, was totally fooled by Luso's Alcino Esteves, who 93 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some careless play in the Luso defense, António Cerqueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Santos. The Luso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Santos should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Vaiamonte FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
