The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Rui Estrela dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Chagas, 1-0. Vaiamonte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saúl França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Chagas was a little too slow when Rui Estrela got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Vaiamonte FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Saúl França hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, José Chagas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Marcelo Osório was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Magusteiro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! José Chagas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Estrela, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27th match minute, SC Magusteiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kuntet Prabaya to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, SC Magusteiro's goalkeeper José Chagas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by António Cerqueira. José Chagas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Estrela in the 29th minute of play. José Chagas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saúl França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Cerqueira came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Chagas could save by the left post. José Chagas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Estrela, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, António Cerqueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Saúl França kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Honorato Andrade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of José Chagas. Honorato Andrade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Saúl França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vaiamonte FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Saúl França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Chagas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the game, António Cerqueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. José Chagas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manoel Guimarães was the one to do the kick off. José Chagas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Estrela in the 53rd minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Saúl França had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Chagas. SC Magusteiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saúl França was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Osman Gazi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Hélder Vasques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horácio Gueifão during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Magusteiro's Horácio Gueifão got a free kick in the 69th minute. SC Magusteiro made a substitution. Frederico Lameirinhas replaced Osman Gazi. In the 75th minute Manoel Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Vasques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honorato Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. José Chagas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rui Estrela went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score.
