The supporters of SC Varzim booed when GOODBYE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Almiro Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrício Sequeira took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexandre Chagas. Alexandre Chagas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Patrício Sequeira scored 0-3 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexandre Chagas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alexandre Chagas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrício Sequeira in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aparício Gouveia during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Varzim's Paulino Miguéis got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Radowit Wielgopolski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Catarino Guterres in the 25th minute of play. Domingos Rego sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Domingos Rego came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the SC Varzim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Rego couldn't finish the play. Alexandre Chagas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrício Sequeira's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 44th match minute, SC Varzim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrício Sequeira to maneuver through the defense. Domingos Rego charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domingos Rego the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Domingos Rego hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The long shot by Rubim Vital in the 46th minute really tested Radowit Wielgopolski's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Alexandre Chagas came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Varzim's Patrício Sequeira. But to his dismay, Patrício Sequeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrício Sequeira to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in GOODBYE's zone, Domingos Rego stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Chagas came out of the goal and Domingos Rego tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Patrício Sequeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 57th minute of the match Domingos Rego completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Domingos Rego a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to SC Varzim getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Domingos Rego hit a great ball. Patrício Sequeira struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Alexandre Chagas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Varzim. In the 61st minute, Patrício Sequeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulino Miguéis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Varzim's Patrício Sequeira got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Osvaldo Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SC Varzim's Silvério Pedroso got a free kick in the 80th minute. Patrício Sequeira in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alexandre Chagas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Patrício Sequeira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Alexandre Chagas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alexandre Chagas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Pedroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Patrício Sequeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Patrício Sequeira put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Alexandre Chagas. After having played for 96 minutes, Silvério Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Varzim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvério Pedroso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When SC Varzim's Patrício Sequeira in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GOODBYE's goalie prevented a goal. SC Varzim played a much better game than GOODBYE and deserved their victory. The GOODBYE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
