Gusmão Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keylor Navas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Winston Premium 100S's Álvaro Ribas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Arenas in the 19th minute of play. Afonso Granja charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Granja the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Mariadeira Boavista FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Granja. Oliver Laferla struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Álvaro Ribas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mariadeira Boavista FC. Alberto Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mariadeira Boavista FC booed when Winston Premium 100S was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Ribas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberto Sarmento showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver Laferla to strike the kick off in the second half. João Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Samuel Bettencourt's late challenge caught a Mariadeira Boavista FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel Bettencourt helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of Winston Premium 100S:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mariadeira Boavista FC:s goal. Álvaro Ribas had in the 62ndth minute some difficulties stopping Afonso Granja's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Sarmento in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Álvaro Ribas saved Winston Premium 100S from getting behind. In the 68th match minute, Winston Premium 100S was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hilário Neiva to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Mariadeira Boavista FC booed when Winston Premium 100S was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Sarmento in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro Ribas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberto Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Ribas having to interfere. After having played for 84 minutes, Oliver Laferla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mariadeira Boavista FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Laferla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alberto Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Winston Premium 100S's Álvaro Ribas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Laferla in the 90th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Alberto Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Ribas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Alberto Sarmento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mariadeira Boavista FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. There was no doubt that Mariadeira Boavista FC were the better team. Mariadeira Boavista FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
