But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho Capablanca couldn't finish the play. Leal Peseiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luso FC. 6 minutes into the match, SC Toito's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Criston came free, but Leal Peseiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 7 played minutes Egídio Quintela rounded Luso FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. After 12 played minutes Luso FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Viveiros. The supporters of Luso FC booed when SC Toito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Wallman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Evaristo Criston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leal Peseiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leal Peseiro came out of the goal and Evaristo Criston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luso FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joaquim Viveiros in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Rubinho Capablanca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo Criston blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leal Peseiro having to make a save. 37 minutes into the match, Danny de la Rosa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SC Toito's Leal Peseiro. Leal Peseiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luso FC's Andrei Cumpan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Luso FC from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egídio Quintela to make the kick off. Pascoal Bernardes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andrei Cumpan. Luso FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubinho Capablanca in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Cumpan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Romildo Pratti hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A collision led to SC Toito getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Egídio Quintela hit a great ball. If Evaristo Criston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danny de la Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Leal Peseiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrei Cumpan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egídio Quintela in the 69th minute of the match. When Boris Shaposhnikov fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luso FC's protests and gave Boris Shaposhnikov a yellow card for diving instead. If Evaristo Criston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Evaristo Criston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evaristo Criston's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leal Peseiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Pascoal Bernardes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Toito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luso FC the free kick. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Luso FC reached it. In the 97th minute, Luso FC's Joaquim Viveiros seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Joaquim Viveiros the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Luso FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joaquim Viveiros had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
