In the 9th minute, SC Angrense's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tarcísio Teves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Chorche in the 10th minute of play forced S.L.Benfica's goalkeeper Fernando Aguilera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erubiel Chorche couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute there was a penalty for SC Angrense. Tzeko Kotlarski stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fernando Aguilera. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Carlos Meireles made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SC Angrense's Mladen Kertov got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute Erubiel Chorche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Erubiel Chorche notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of S.L.Benfica's Fernando Aguilera. In the 95thth minute of the game Carlos Meireles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.L.Benfica's Fernando Aguilera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match was over SC Angrense could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than S.L.Benfica throughout the match.
