Spectators: 8023 (Terracing: 6019, Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 159) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Calvino Nadal got the match started through his kick off. If Paulo Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, AD Lidar's Hermes Calheiros seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hermes Calheiros the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AD Lidar protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hermes Calheiros had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Sopegal's goalkeeper Adão Leite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Paulo Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, AD Lidar's Fernando Rodas got control of the ball when Igor Balsemão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulo Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Fernando Rodas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Carlos Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the match, SC Sopegal's goal looked a bit too open when Calvino Nadal came free, but Adão Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Cardoso to make the kick off. Igor Balsemão got a throw-in 51 minutes in the game and the ball was received by José Lessa. 51 minutes into the match, SC Sopegal's Paulo Cardoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernando Rodas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adão Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Jordão, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. AD Lidar's Carlos Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adão Leite made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Calvino Nadal sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute of the match AD Lidar got a corner. SC Sopegal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Costante Cavallosa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SC Sopegal's goalie and right to Joaquim Jordão. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SC Sopegal's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Fernando Rodas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Cardoso in the 70th minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Sopegal defense, Calvino Nadal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adão Leite. The SC Sopegal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adão Leite should have stopped the shot. Adão Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Calvino Nadal in the 78th minute. AD Lidar's Calvino Nadal got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Sopegal's Adão Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvino Nadal in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to SC Sopegal getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Paulo Cardoso hit a great ball. In the 90th minute, AD Lidar's Calvino Nadal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 93rd minute, Tomé Candal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AD Lidar played a much better game than SC Sopegal and deserved their victory. The SC Sopegal players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
