When Alexandre Avelar came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Inter Porto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Avelar couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Avelar in the 32nd minute of play forced R.M fc's goalkeeper Fabiano Aveiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Avelar took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabiano Aveiro. Fabiano Aveiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. In the 37th minute Bernardo Teves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Aveiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabiano Aveiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Teves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of R.M fc booed when Inter Porto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Avelar didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Quintanilha in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Almiro Guimarães saved Inter Porto from getting behind. Salvador Lameiras made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Inter Porto's Romão Nóbrega. In the 48th minute Valter Campelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Aveiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Avelar made a kick off. If Mariano Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Quintanilha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, R.M fc's Fabiano Aveiro got control of the ball when Yuri Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the R.M fc defense, Bernardo Teves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabiano Aveiro. The R.M fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabiano Aveiro should have stopped the shot. In the 66thth minute of the game Jorge Quintanilha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter Porto's Almiro Guimarães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Jorge Quintanilha notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Inter Porto's Almiro Guimarães. Almiro Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 82 played minutes R.M fc got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Oliveira. Jacinto Guimarães hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Jorge Quintanilha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The R.M fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-4. Almiro Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Quintanilha in the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, R.M fc's goal looked a bit too open when André Caiado came free, but Fabiano Aveiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
