The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Gervásio Boaventura threw the ball into play from the sideline. Santo António Nordestinho's Belchior Oliveira quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Hélio Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Igrejas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute, Xavier Serpa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes, Joaquim Palha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santo António Nordestinho and the Ken United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Santo António Nordestinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Palha to maneuver through the defense. Rui Bento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Santo António Nordestinho's Rúben Carvalheira got control of the ball when Rui Bento tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute, Paulo Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santo António Nordestinho's Rúben Carvalheira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Freire in the 32nd minute of play. Xavier Serpa charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xavier Serpa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ken United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Xavier Serpa hit a great ball. If Alcino Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rúben Carvalheira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Cordeiro in the 43rd minute of play. Paulo Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Rúben Carvalheira made a huge save. Rui Bento came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rúben Carvalheira could save by the left post. Rúben Carvalheira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaspar Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Paulo Freire made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot by Belchior Oliveira from long distance, 51 minutes into the match, got Hélio Ramos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rúben Carvalheira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Bento in the 52nd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Alcino Alvarenga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hélio Ramos, 0-1. Hélio Ramos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alcino Alvarenga in the 60th minute. Rúben Carvalheira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rúben Carvalheira came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Ken United's Gaspar Cordeiro. But to his dismay, Gaspar Cordeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Paulo Freire scored 2-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rúben Carvalheira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 81stth minute of the game Paulo Freire who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santo António Nordestinho's Rúben Carvalheira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Santo António Nordestinho's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Cordeiro came free, but Rúben Carvalheira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Ken United. Gastão Soeiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rúben Carvalheira. 3-1. If Paulo Lustosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerónimo Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélio Ramos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Lustosa in the 95th minute.
