With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gorka Mendieta in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Sal saved Branca from getting behind. The corner ended in Pascoal Dias almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cotinguiba Esporte Clube-'s Hauk Thuen did a great save. In the 11th minute, Ronald Groneberg made a precise shot to the right of Rene Sal. Branca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Branca! Rene Sal went to the wrong direction when Raimundo Vilela was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Rene Sal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Gorka Mendieta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gorka Mendieta succeeded in the game's 23rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. The Branca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rene Sal should have stopped the shot. Rene Sal came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Cotinguiba Esporte Clube-'s Leonardo Severo. But to his dismay, Leonardo Severo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Branca's Rene Sal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dirk-Jan Pietersma in the 42nd minute of play. Rene Sal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gorka Mendieta in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petruț Miulescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Cristiano Barbosa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rene Sal. The goal made the score 0-8. In the 58th minute, Cotinguiba Esporte Clube-'s Ronald Groneberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Severo got free with Rene Sal in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 63 minutes, Maurício Paredes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Branca and the Cotinguiba Esporte Clube- players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Maurício Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rene Sal made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Leonardo Severo sent off a good shot on target. 66 minutes into the game, Cotinguiba Esporte Clube-'s Gorka Mendieta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rene Sal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-10. Rene Sal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Gorka Mendieta made a precise shot to the right of Rene Sal. Branca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. 0-12 became the score in the 75th minute when Cristiano Barbosa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 79 minutes of play, Cotinguiba Esporte Clube-'s Leonardo Severo made it 0-13 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rene Sal was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Gorka Mendieta put it in 0-14 from a short distance just to the right of Rene Sal. In the 86th minute, Ronald Groneberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rene Sal. The goal made the score 0-15. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gorka Mendieta in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rene Sal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Branca's Rene Sal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torcato Coimbra in the 94th minute of play. Cristiano Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Sal having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Cotinguiba Esporte Clube- left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Branca.
