Timóteo Rebelo made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Petruț Miulescu sent off a good shot on target. FC Gaia's Timóteo Rebelo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Gaia from getting a goal against them. Timóteo Rebelo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from 何希霖. In the 25th minute, Tim Van Vyve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Passos in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Sal saved Branca from getting behind. Petruț Miulescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Timóteo Rebelo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 45 minutes into the game, Elias Colaço cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rene Sal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Monteiro to make the kick off. If Petruț Miulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonardo Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Gaia booed when Branca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 minutes, Gustavo Figueiras mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Branca and the FC Gaia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 85 minutes, Tim Van Vyve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Branca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Van Vyve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Branca's goalkeeper Rene Sal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elias Colaço. Petruț Miulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Branca's Rene Sal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Monteiro in the 93rd minute of play. Moisés Liberato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Rene Sal made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, Branca's goalkeeper Rene Sal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elias Colaço. The Branca supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Gaia's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Gaia.
