The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Claudemiro Lamego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonçalo Azevedo in the 7th minute of play. Angélico Lessa hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aloísio Barata during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Claudemiro Lamego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aloísio Barata took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogério Ornelas. Rogério Ornelas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Rogério Ornelas made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Aloísio Barata sent off a good shot on target. Rogério Ornelas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Lessa in the 24th minute of play. Hildeberto Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonçalo Azevedo in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudemiro Lamego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aloísio Barata got free with Rogério Ornelas in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudemiro Lamego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Azevedo in the 37th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Rosmaninhal FC's Renato Lessa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rogério Ornelas. That made the score 2-2 after 39 minutes of play. 44 minutes into the match, Rubim Junqueira sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Rogério Ornelas threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Rubim Junqueira this time. With a little luck, Os Moinas FC's Rogério Ornelas got control of the ball when Aloísio Barata tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Renato Lessa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Os Moinas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Paiva to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute of the match João Carvalheira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rogério Ornelas skillfully saved the ball. Rogério Ornelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Lessa in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Rosmaninhal FC booed when Os Moinas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Barata didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 57 minutes, João Carvalheira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosmaninhal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carvalheira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 58 minutes, Flávio Novais mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rosmaninhal FC and the Os Moinas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute of the match, Gonçalo Azevedo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Claudemiro Lamego was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rosmaninhal FC's Renato Lessa got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Barata in the 69th minute of play forced Os Moinas FC's goalkeeper Rogério Ornelas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rogério Ornelas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Lessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute, Hildeberto Freire made a precise shot to the right of Rogério Ornelas. Os Moinas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Aloísio Barata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Ornelas having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Rosmaninhal FC got a freekick which was hit by Hildeberto Freire. Claudemiro Lamego acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Guilherme Barata. 86 minutes into the match, Os Moinas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hildeberto Freire came free, but Rogério Ornelas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rogério Ornelas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aloísio Barata went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. 91 minutes into the game, Rosmaninhal FC's Bernardo Borba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogério Ornelas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2.
