In the 12thth minute of the game Albert Karapetkov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but slcotovios's Luis Ondino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 18 minutes into the game, União Caparica's Zeferino Avelar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luis Ondino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Karapetkov in the 20th minute of play forced slcotovios's goalkeeper Luis Ondino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Cássio Estrada reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sidónio Maltez. During this time União Caparica's players had a chance to rest. Cristiano Vilaverde was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
