Homero Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldo Alvarenga didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Alcala FC's Valentim Domingos shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After a rather tough play, Red Star Monção's André França got a free kick in the 20th minute. The supporters of Alcala FC booed when Red Star Monção was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Resende didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Valentim Domingos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Red Star Monção's Osvaldo Alvarenga didn't even have to move. Valentim Domingos scored 5-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Osvaldo Alvarenga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Sébastien Haller got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Homero Sarmento in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldo Alvarenga saved Red Star Monção from getting behind. In the 43rd minute of the match, Homero Sarmento tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Osvaldo Alvarenga saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Valentim Domingos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Osvaldo Alvarenga made a huge save. In the 48th minute John Wayne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Wayne, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Homero Sarmento made a kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 56 minutes into the game, when Vasco Resende put in a rough tackle. In the 55th minute, one of Red Star Monção:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Red Star Monção. The referee gave Alcala FC a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Valentim Domingos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Red Star Monção's Osvaldo Alvarenga. 7-0. Osvaldo Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sébastien Haller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andaka Babalov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Nóbrega having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Valentim Domingos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Alcala FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentim Domingos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Lameiras's late challenge caught a Alcala FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
