The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carlos Palhares scored 0-2 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teodoro Magalhães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leopoldo Jacinto Luque took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teodoro Magalhães. Teodoro Magalhães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 17th minute, Leopoldo Jacinto Luque ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teodoro Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Auto Esticões's goalkeeper Teodoro Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teodoro Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Jacinto Luque's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Leopoldo Jacinto Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Palhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teodoro Magalhães having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Leopoldo Jacinto Luque put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Teodoro Magalhães. After 32 minutes, Ivo Lobo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Auto Esticões and the Madeira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Teodoro Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Maltez in the 38th minute of play. Berker Sulhi lost his temper 41 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 40th minute, one of Madeira FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Madeira FC. If Peter Lundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Leopoldo Jacinto Luque ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teodoro Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Gama to make the kick off. Carlos Palhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodoro Magalhães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teodoro Magalhães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 0-14 became the score in the 75th minute when Carlos Palhares elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Auto Esticões's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Leopoldo Jacinto Luque fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 81stth minute of the game Leopoldo Jacinto Luque who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Auto Esticões's Teodoro Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leopoldo Jacinto Luque did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-15 to the left of a surprised Teodoro Magalhães 81 minutes into the match. Teodoro Magalhães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Jacinto Luque's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the game, Peter Lundström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teodoro Magalhães. Peter Lundström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-16. Carlos Palhares struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Teodoro Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Madeira FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopoldo Jacinto Luque in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodoro Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Auto Esticões fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Madeira FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
