After 5 minutes, Noel Peixoto made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Teixugueira's Hermenegildo Lemos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gusmão Alcântara scored 1-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durval Miranda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sords Team's Durval Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gusmão Alcântara in the 12th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Abel Leiria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Teixugueira and the Sords Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Teixugueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Leiria to maneuver through the defense. Armindo Silva struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Hermenegildo Lemos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sords Team. 18 minutes into the match, Kevin Ponte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durval Miranda. Sords Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kevin Ponte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Guido Leheren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Durval Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Sords Team's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Leheren came free, but Durval Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teixugueira's Hermenegildo Lemos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Teixugueira from getting a goal against them. 2-2 became the score in the 35th minute when Noel Peixoto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 41st minute Marcinho Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durval Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Tomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Durval Miranda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guido Leheren went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Noel Peixoto made the kick off in the second half. Sords Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Nuno Tomas scored to the left of an out of position Durval Miranda, making the score, 2-4. 56 minutes into the game, Sords Team's Armindo Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hermenegildo Lemos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. The supporters of Teixugueira booed when Sords Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Seixas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abel Leiria, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sords Team's Noel Peixoto got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcinho Mineiro scored 3-5 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durval Miranda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hermenegildo Lemos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Noel Peixoto went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-5 was the resulting score. In the 75th minute Guido Leheren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermenegildo Lemos came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sords Team's Armindo Silva. But to his dismay, Armindo Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-5. In the 87th minute, Nuno Tomas made a precise shot to the right of Durval Miranda. Sords Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-6. In the 91st minute, Ricardo Salazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teixugueira's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
