Marcos Miranda made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SC Alqueva's Homero Campos. 5 minutes into the match, Sords Team's goal looked a bit too open when Homero Campos came free, but Durval Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armindo Silva got free with Hermenegildo Peseiro in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute, Noel Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Sords Team defense, Tomé Júdice kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Durval Miranda. The Sords Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Durval Miranda should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute, Noel Peixoto made a precise shot to the right of Hermenegildo Peseiro. SC Alqueva's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Hermenegildo Peseiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Noel Peixoto went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute, Ricardo Salazar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hermenegildo Peseiro. The goal made the score 3-1. In the 27th minute, Sords Team's Armindo Silva ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hermenegildo Peseiro. Hermenegildo Peseiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Rafael Raposo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sords Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Raposo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermenegildo Peseiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute, Noel Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 37 minutes, Armindo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sords Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Sords Team defense, Donato Carneiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Durval Miranda. The Sords Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Durval Miranda should have stopped the shot. Ivan Garcez took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Miranda. Durval Miranda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Donato Carneiro scored 4-4 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durval Miranda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Garcez to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Sords Team's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé Júdice came free, but Durval Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hermenegildo Peseiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Sords Team's Durval Miranda got control of the ball when Donato Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. SC Alqueva's Hermenegildo Peseiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Salazar in the 75th minute of play. 7-4 became the score in the 79th minute when Noel Peixoto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 82 minutes of play, Sords Team's Ricardo Salazar made it 8-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hermenegildo Peseiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sords Team's Durval Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Sords Team from getting a goal against them. Durval Miranda was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ivan Garcez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 8-5 in the 91 minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Sords Team's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Carneiro came free, but Durval Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
