Sport Açores e Benfica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SL PEJOVINU the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sport Açores e Benfica's Samuel Salgueiro got a free kick in the 5th minute. Sérgio Viegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Normando Lobato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Olívio Águas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sérgio Viegas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. SL PEJOVINU's Idalécio Henriques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save SL PEJOVINU from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juliano Modesto in the 18th minute of play forced Sport Açores e Benfica's goalkeeper Sérgio Viegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Viegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stu Corbridge in the 19th minute of the match. When Valentim Vilas Boas fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Açores e Benfica's protests and gave Valentim Vilas Boas a yellow card for diving instead. Valentim Vilas Boas kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Sérgio Viegas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stu Corbridge's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Idalécio Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nélson Matias in the 30th minute of play. Plácido Ramires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Idalécio Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sport Açores e Benfica booed when SL PEJOVINU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Águas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adélio Seabra kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. When Samuel Salgueiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 37 minutes had been played. After 37 played minutes Sport Açores e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Salgueiro. In the 40th minute, Normando Lobato ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sérgio Viegas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juliano Modesto to make the kick off. SL PEJOVINU's Enjang Santoso got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nélson Matias hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. A long shot from Olívio Águas in the 55th minute of play was well struck, but Sérgio Viegas made a really good save at the right post. The supporters of SL PEJOVINU booed when Sport Açores e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Bragança didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juliano Modesto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the SL PEJOVINU defense, Valentim Vilas Boas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Idalécio Henriques. The SL PEJOVINU fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Idalécio Henriques should have stopped the shot. Stu Corbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Viegas having to interfere. With a little luck, Sport Açores e Benfica's Sérgio Viegas got control of the ball when Normando Lobato tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sérgio Viegas came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by SL PEJOVINU's Normando Lobato. But to his dismay, Normando Lobato quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Sérgio Viegas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sérgio Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Normando Lobato, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Valentim Vilas Boas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SL PEJOVINU's Idalécio Henriques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Sport Açores e Benfica booed when SL PEJOVINU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alípio Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes, Sport Açores e Benfica's Ademar Carvalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Idalécio Henriques came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sport Açores e Benfica reached it. The audience was convinced that Valentim Vilas Boas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Idalécio Henriques was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. In the 84thth minute of the game Valentim Vilas Boas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SL PEJOVINU's Idalécio Henriques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sport Açores e Benfica's Valentim Vilas Boas in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SL PEJOVINU's goalie prevented a goal. 92 minutes into the match, SL PEJOVINU's goal looked a bit too open when Valentim Vilas Boas came free, but Idalécio Henriques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sport Açores e Benfica's Plácido Ramires got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SL PEJOVINU eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
