Altares FC's Homero Simões was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gil Gouveia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jairo Mansilha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaspar Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Silvano Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jairo Mansilha having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Homero Simões made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Fernando Rijo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the game, Tiago Ventura recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jairo Mansilha. Tiago Ventura showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Homero Simões during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Homero Simões hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Gaspar Linhares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Mansilha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. When the match was over Aveiro FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Altares FC throughout the match.
