Gaspar Linhares hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute Joaquim Cerqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Gouveia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Aveiro FC defense, Teófilo Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil Gouveia. The Aveiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil Gouveia should have stopped the shot. Dário Malafaia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Anıl Arda Ünlüer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
