In the 13th match minute, Stars Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albérico Bacelar to maneuver through the defense. Evandro Neves's late challenge caught a keep Strong's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stars Academy's Américo Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Ashley Cordingley was a little too slow when Bento Perdigão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 2-2. Germano Carmona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Quintela in the 56th minute of play. Ashley Cordingley made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Américo Albuquerque sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute, Basílio Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Quintela in the 84th minute of play forced Stars Academy's goalkeeper Germano Carmona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Américo Albuquerque's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Ashley Cordingley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Germano Carmona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Quintela in the 86th minute of the match.
