Igor Zambujal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordão Lamego, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Aquilino Seixas made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Maciej Jankowski sent off a good shot on target. When André Sá fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esmoriz's protests and gave André Sá a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Esmoriz's André Sá got a free kick in the 12th minute. AJAX's Igor Zambujal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Paredes in the 21st minute of play. Maciej Jankowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Aquilino Seixas made a huge save. In the 23rd minute, Jordão Lamego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esmoriz's Aquilino Seixas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maciej Jankowski in the 28th minute of play. Maciej Jankowski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aquilino Seixas came out and tried to block the shot, but Maciej Jankowski slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 30th minute. After a rather tough play, Esmoriz's Jordão Lamego got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as AJAX's Maciej Jankowski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aquilino Seixas. That made the score 3-0 after 35 minutes of play. Aquilino Seixas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 40th minute, which inside left pole to 4-0. When Honorato Noronha was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 45 minutes had been played. In the 46th minute, Honorato Noronha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Paredes to make the kick off. Maciej Jankowski took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aquilino Seixas. Aquilino Seixas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maciej Jankowski in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aquilino Seixas saved Esmoriz from getting behind. In the 60thth minute of the game Maciej Jankowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esmoriz's Aquilino Seixas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maciej Jankowski in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aquilino Seixas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 63 minutes into the game, AJAX's Maciej Jankowski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aquilino Seixas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Bedri Aydıntan struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Aquilino Seixas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AJAX. The audience was convinced that Maciej Jankowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aquilino Seixas was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Maciej Jankowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Aquilino Seixas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maciej Jankowski in the 82nd minute of play forced Esmoriz's goalkeeper Aquilino Seixas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Fiúza kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Maciej Jankowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mikolaj Filipkowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Aquilino Seixas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that AJAX were the better team. AJAX's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
