To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ashley Cordingley was a little too slow when Teodoro Freire got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. David Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Quintela in the 26th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Teodoro Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ashley Cordingley was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Teodoro Freire blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ashley Cordingley having to make a save. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for keep Strong. keep Strong:s Ashley Cordingley showed great skill when he stopped Adelino Palma:s penalty. In the 38th minute, Angelo Carvalhal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Óscar Quintela hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Teodoro Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ashley Cordingley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. AM United's Teodoro Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Novais during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th minute Teodoro Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ashley Cordingley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Óscar Quintela was the one to do the kick off. If Teodoro Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the keep Strong defense, Teodoro Freire kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ashley Cordingley. The keep Strong fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ashley Cordingley should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Óscar Quintela in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Bastos saved AM United from getting behind. Teodoro Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68th minute, Jiang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Caldeira charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Damião Quintanilha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ashley Cordingley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damião Quintanilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AM United fully deserved thier win.
