Amável Assis ran over to the corner to take the kick. keep Strong's Ashley Cordingley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Henriques in the 14th minute of play. When Aquilino Gois came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Santos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Gois couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in keep Strong's zone, Inácio Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ashley Cordingley came out of the goal and Inácio Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Valter Jesus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 played minutes keep Strong got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Malta. In the 25th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Henriques to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th match minute, keep Strong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Maia to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Valter Jesus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Henriques got free with Ashley Cordingley in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute, Óscar Quintela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 played minutes keep Strong got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Maia. 72 minutes into the match, Homero Caires notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Santos FC's Albertino Assis. Albertino Assis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 76th minute, Óscar Quintela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The keep Strong fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Ashley Cordingley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 92 minutes, Homero Caires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. keep Strong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Homero Caires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the keep Strong players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
