The referee showed Hildeberto Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Esmoriz getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Juvenal Colaço hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Montes in the 27th minute of play forced Esmoriz's goalkeeper Aquilino Seixas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th match minute, Esmoriz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Furtado to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th match minute, Esmoriz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentim Mourinho to maneuver through the defense. Esmoriz's Aquilino Seixas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timóteo Carvalho in the 38th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Honorato Noronha made a kick off. Maximino Montes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Inácio Roriz came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the GD Nazarenos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Roriz couldn't finish the play. Aquilino Seixas came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by GD Nazarenos's Maximino Montes. But to his dismay, Maximino Montes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 67 minutes, Sandro Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esmoriz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in GD Nazarenos's zone, Sandro Paredes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Corderro came out of the goal and Sandro Paredes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Honorato Noronha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ismael Corderro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, GD Nazarenos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Lobato to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the game, António Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ismael Corderro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, Esmoriz's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Montes came free, but Aquilino Seixas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esmoriz's Valentim Mourinho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pedro Carvalho, made in the 90th minute of the game. GD Nazarenos's Maximino Montes got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esmoriz succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though GD Nazarenos had controlled the match.
