If Afonso Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Panteras FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. In the 22nd minute Pedro Noronha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoffer Grinden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Adalberto Salgueiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panteras FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acrescenta the free kick. Acrescenta's Alcides Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Alcides Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christoffer Grinden was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Futre in the 33rd minute of play forced Panteras FC's goalkeeper Christoffer Grinden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christoffer Grinden made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alcides Costa made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Acrescenta getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Paulo Futre hit a great ball. Christoffer Grinden came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Acrescenta's Afonso Moura. But to his dismay, Afonso Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Alcides Costa took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christoffer Grinden. Christoffer Grinden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After 65 played minutes Panteras FC got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Salgueiro. In the 67th minute, Alcides Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Acrescenta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 71 minutes into the match, Panteras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alcides Costa came free, but Christoffer Grinden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alcides Costa in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christoffer Grinden prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Batista Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Acrescenta's Tomás Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Lobato in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute Alcides Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoffer Grinden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Acrescenta's Alcides Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christoffer Grinden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Batista Batistuta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 96th minute, Afonso Moura made a precise shot to the right of Christoffer Grinden. Panteras FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Acrescenta played a much better game than Panteras FC and deserved their victory. The Panteras FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
