Almiro Viveiros took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lisandro Castelo Branco. Lisandro Castelo Branco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Lisandro Castelo Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Almiro Viveiros in the 9th minute of play. In the 11thth minute of the game Alexandre Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lara's Lisandro Castelo Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 13 minutes of play, Malukinho F.C.'s Alexandre Paiva made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lisandro Castelo Branco was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 17 minutes, Nélson Vilas Boas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lara and the Malukinho F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Malukinho F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almiro Viveiros to maneuver through the defense. Lisandro Castelo Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almiro Viveiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lisandro Castelo Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Paiva in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Malukinho F.C. were awarded a corner. Almiro Viveiros went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Yuri Fernandes advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-3 in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lara's goalkeeper Lisandro Castelo Branco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Vivaldo Pimenta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Alexandre Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee gave Nélson Vilas Boas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Malukinho F.C. booed when Lara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nélson Vilas Boas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Malukinho F.C. were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudemiro Lessa to make the kick off. If Plácido Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Lara getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Rúben Vilaça hit a great ball. Malukinho F.C.'s Almiro Viveiros shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 58th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Lisandro Castelo Branco but with some difficulty. In the 59th minute, Malukinho F.C.'s Alexandre Paiva ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lisandro Castelo Branco. Lisandro Castelo Branco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. If Almiro Viveiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 65 minutes into the game, Almiro Viveiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malukinho F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lara the free kick. Almiro Viveiros hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 74 minutes of play, Malukinho F.C.'s Almiro Viveiros made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lisandro Castelo Branco was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 78 played minutes Malukinho F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Olívio Benevides.
