Cristóvão Belo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christos Koumantarakis's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Martinho Portela kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Cristóvão Belo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urban Myr in the 9th minute of play. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Urban Myr sped through GDP's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristóvão Belo. In the 17th minute, Hélder Novais made a precise shot to the right of Cristóvão Belo. GDP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Abel Lamego scored 0-4 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristóvão Belo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hélder Novais hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the GDP defense, Christos Koumantarakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristóvão Belo. The GDP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristóvão Belo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christos Koumantarakis in the 36th minute of play forced GDP's goalkeeper Cristóvão Belo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes GDP got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Santiago. Cristóvão Belo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urban Myr in the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christos Koumantarakis in the 40th minute of play forced GDP's goalkeeper Cristóvão Belo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Dobbs, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 44 minutes of play, Benfica VN's Abel Lamego made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristóvão Belo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 47 played minutes GDP got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Santiago. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Urban Myr got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, GDP's Cristóvão Belo got control of the ball when Abel Lamego tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 55th minute Stor Kuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristóvão Belo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Enzo Santiago came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the GDP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enzo Santiago couldn't finish the play. GDP's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Christos Koumantarakis 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-7. 64 minutes into the match, GDP's goal looked a bit too open when Christos Koumantarakis came free, but Cristóvão Belo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Belo came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Benfica VN's Abel Lamego. But to his dismay, Abel Lamego quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. GDP's Cristóvão Belo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christos Koumantarakis in the 77th minute of play. After 81 minutes, Abel Lamego mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benfica VN and the GDP players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Benfica VN getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Abel Lamego hit a great ball. In the 89th match minute, GDP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Pereira to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in GDP's zone, Reinaldo Dobbs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Belo came out of the goal and Reinaldo Dobbs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benfica VN's Christos Koumantarakis got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Amado's late challenge caught a Benfica VN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Amado helped the player get up and apologised. Benfica VN's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
