The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute of the match Hermínio Parente shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Afonso Quadros showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Juvenal Queiroga fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dragon Blue's protests and gave Juvenal Queiroga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Dragon Blue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Queiroga to maneuver through the defense. Silvestre Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Avelino Martins made a precise shot to the right of Afonso Quadros. Dragon Blue's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 13th match minute, SLbenfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Costa to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Dragon Blue booed when SLbenfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. SLbenfica's Caio Taveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save SLbenfica from getting a goal against them. Dragon Blue's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SLbenfica the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Sandro Soveral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandro Soveral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Caio Taveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Afonso Quadros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Avelino Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Afonso Quadros made a huge save. Afonso Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to SLbenfica getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Silvestre Vieira hit a great ball. After 84 played minutes SLbenfica got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Henriques. Afonso Quadros made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Avelino Martins sent off a good shot on target. 91 minutes into the match, Dragon Blue's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Costa came free, but Afonso Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Dragon Blue's goalkeeper Afonso Quadros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Henriques. After 96 played minutes SLbenfica got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Laureano. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SLbenfica had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
