Wojciech Wojno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to SANFINS VLP getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Wojciech Wojno hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artun Aydın in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Prada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thanks to some nice moves Yanick Coremans could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Álvaro Baía however easily saved by the left post. David Prada stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artun Aydın's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 36th minute Nélson Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Prada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Álvaro Baía having to make a save. The Caxias F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Caxias F.C.'s Artun Aydın looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yanick Coremans in the 47th minute of play forced Caxias F.C.'s goalkeeper Álvaro Baía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduardo Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SANFINS VLP booed when Caxias F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Harry Meikleham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SANFINS VLP's David Prada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Caiado in the 71st minute of play. Yanick Coremans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Monroe Duvall kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. David Prada made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Jordão Valadares sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute, Nazım Gümüş got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Artun Aydın in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of David Prada, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nélson Nunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Prada. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nélson Nunes ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jordão Valadares got free with David Prada in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wojciech Wojno hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 93rd match minute, Caxias F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kip Kerri to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the match, Caxias F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Yanick Coremans came free, but Álvaro Baía reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Yanick Coremans made a precise shot to the right of Álvaro Baía. Caxias F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Caxias F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SANFINS VLP.
