The NVA FEDERETION NVA fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when NVA FEDERETION NVA's Strahil Bushev looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 20 minutes into the match, Strahil Bushev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Álvaro Baía. Caxias F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Strahil Bushev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Caxias F.C.'s Nélson Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Strahil Bushev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Álvaro Baía read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Caxias F.C.'s Jordão Valadares got a free kick in the 29th minute. The wind increased when Strahil Bushev made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artun Aydın in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uli Ballik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Caxias F.C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Fernando Dantas hit a great ball. If Nélson Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Strahil Bushev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Álvaro Baía had great luck who in the 68thth minute grab hold of the ball when Strahil Bushev from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. NVA FEDERETION NVA were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Caxias F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zoltán Erdélyi took the corner. Álvaro Baía came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by NVA FEDERETION NVA's Maurício Araújo. But to his dismay, Maurício Araújo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Álvaro Baía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Strahil Bushev in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of NVA FEDERETION NVA booed when Caxias F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jordão Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Uli Ballik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
