In the 13th minute, Brynn Locking reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Laureano Rijo. The goal made the score 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sean Demeyer in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laureano Rijo saved A.D.ESMOJÃES from getting behind. Laureano Rijo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Januário Castelo Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gică Lucescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Garcia in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute Brynn Locking suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 24th match minute, A.D.ESMOJÃES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Damásio to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, A.D.ESMOJÃES's goal looked a bit too open when Sean Demeyer came free, but Laureano Rijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cucu Fernández to make the kick off.
