António Pimentel scored 0-3 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vasco Meireles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute, Julian Blanco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vasco Meireles came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Internacional de Lisboa's Jan Hendrik Saarberg. But to his dismay, Jan Hendrik Saarberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 27 minutes into the match, Internacional de Lisboa's António Pimentel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vasco Meireles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th match minute, Benfica de Penafirme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alcides Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Internacional de Lisboa booed when Benfica de Penafirme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Carmona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benfica de Penafirme's Vasco Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Aires in the 30th minute of play. Vasco Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Blanco, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, António Pimentel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasco Meireles. Benfica de Penafirme's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that António Pimentel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Vladimiro Fraga hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Benfica de Penafirme's Filipe Pestana got a free kick in the 46th minute. Vasco Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiří Mrzena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Vasco Meireles was a little too slow when Julian Blanco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 0-11. The crowd rose to their feet as Jan Hendrik Saarberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vasco Meireles. That made the score 0-12 in the 68 minute of play. Jiří Mrzena succeeded in the game's 70th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-13. In the 74th minute, Jiří Mrzena made a precise shot to the right of Vasco Meireles. Benfica de Penafirme's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-14. Vasco Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Internacional de Lisboa's Julian Blanco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-15. Jan Hendrik Saarberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Vasco Meireles made a huge save. António Pimentel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Vasco Meireles made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, Julian Blanco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasco Meireles. Benfica de Penafirme's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Blanco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-17. Internacional de Lisboa played a much better game than Benfica de Penafirme and deserved their victory. The Benfica de Penafirme players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
