After a rather tough play, estrelas's Altino Portugal got a free kick in the 5th minute. Francisco Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Tristão in the 7th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, estrelas's goal looked a bit too open when Herberto Caiado came free, but João Carreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Altino Portugal in the 20th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Francisco Infante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Lima Team getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Anselmo Domingos hit a great ball. Lima Team's Herberto Caiado got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute of the match Lima Team got a corner. estrelas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Herberto Caiado ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, estrelas's Hermes Espinosa got a free kick in the 39th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Herberto Caiado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lima Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herberto Caiado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lima Team's Francisco Infante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Almiro Veloso in the 45th minute of play. After the first half estrelas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herberto Caiado to make the kick off. Herberto Caiado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Herberto Caiado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carreira was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 65th minute André Fiúza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Infante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Altino Portugal was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 69 played minutes estrelas got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Tristão. In the 71st minute Jacob Barroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Carreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Jacob Barroso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Carreira. estrelas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacob Barroso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Herberto Caiado sped through estrelas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Carreira. João Carreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herberto Caiado, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. João Carreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Barroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Herberto Caiado made a precise shot to the right of João Carreira. estrelas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. In the 84th minute, Almiro Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Carreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herberto Caiado's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Antero Noronha kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Carlos Palmeira hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Lima Team's Francisco Infante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Lima Team from getting a goal against them. After 94 minutes Lima Team's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Martinho Távora who took care of the corner kick. Caetano Assunção tried in the 95th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Francisco Infante a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 5-3. Jacob Barroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
