Gustavo Carrasqueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Gustavo Carrasqueira almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but estrelas's João Carreira did a great save. In the 11th minute, Marian Axinte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute Leal Quintanilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurențiu Gaciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Exército Português's Armando Meireles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Carreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Armando Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. João Carreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martinho Távora during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to estrelas getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Martinho Távora hit a great ball. Exército Português's attack was well implemented in the 23rd minute, but when Armando Meireles was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. With a little luck, Exército Português's Laurențiu Gaciu got control of the ball when Eliseu Tristão tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Exército Português's Armando Meireles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Carreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bruno Soveral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Soveral in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Carreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30th match minute, estrelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martinho Távora to maneuver through the defense. João Carreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Meireles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Soveral in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Carreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 minutes, Bruno Soveral made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. estrelas's João Carreira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th minute Bruno Soveral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Carreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laurențiu Gaciu made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Eliseu Tristão sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Armando Meireles made the kick off in the second half. Laurențiu Gaciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Altino Portugal in the 55th minute of play. In the 68th play minute Armando Meireles came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised João Carreira. 0-4. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind estrelas's goalkeeper João Carreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gustavo Carrasqueira made a great header on Exército Português's corner, it was just that estrelas's João Carreira managed to reach the ball for a save. When Exército Português's Armando Meireles in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye estrelas's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Meireles in the 78th managed to get into a good position. The Exército Português fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. With 83 minutes on the clock, Leal Quintanilha commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for estrelas! The excitement rose when Exército Português's Bruno Soveral after 85 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for estrelas's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-6. João Carreira came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Exército Português's Armando Meireles. But to his dismay, Armando Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. The supporters of Exército Português booed when estrelas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Fiúza didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Armando Meireles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carreira was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. The estrelas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Exército Português were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
